Life before Brooks and Kirk
Before enrolling on her IQA course, Melanie was already involved in doing some internal quality assuring for another provider. She thought that the work she did would have more value if she had an IQA qualification to go with it, as it adds a whole layer of professionalism. Even when she first started working in Digital Skills 20+ years ago, she was doing work as an IQA before they had even heard of the quality assurance role. So in a way, Melanie feels that her entire professional career has been leading up to being an IQA.
Finding Brooks and Kirk
When Melanie was choosing a training provider and found Brooks and Kirk, she liked the way the whole company ethic. She contacted a few training providers, but wasn’t happy with their level of professionalism.
“The support and the trainers, everyone was really brilliant throughout the course and really, really helpful. I think the resources were really good, obviously the support if you’re stuck is brilliant as well. If you hadn’t successfully achieved a task on the first go, then the feedback and tutorials were again, brilliant.
Everyone was amazing, Dan was brilliant, everyone was brilliant when I came to do my days session, it was all really great.”

Life after the IQA Course
Since completing the IQA course, Melanie has been offered a higher paying position and has been asked to be involved with writing exam papers on a freelance basis for the Digital Skills qualification. Melanie has also completed the EPA course with Brooks and Kirk since finishing her IQA, and said that was also really good.
“I highly recommend Brooks and Kirk, as I feel that the resources are excellent and the tutor support throughout is really good. Even though the course is mainly online, the support and guidance available to you is all very professional. You’re not made to feel stupid when you ask questions. Some of the course I covered over the phone rather than online so it was nice to have the option when online wasn’t available to me”.
