Every Learner is Different | Sarah’ Story
About Sarah
Sarah is a proactive individual that seeks enjoyment through watercolour painting and her work life.
Life before Brooks and Kirk
I’m actually now working for a professional body. I’ve been recruited to manage their assessment processes. It’s not an accredited assessment, it’s an internal process for the body to enable members to become reach chartered status. It’s been a nice change.
I’ve taken a watercolour painting. I saw in the next village a watercolour class, like a monthly watercolour class. And I was like, you what? I’m going to go to that and just try it. And then I really, really enjoyed it.
Finding Brooks and Kirk
“So I looked around online. So that’s how I found yourselves because I’d just changed my role. I needed to find somewhere where they could also provide learners to support the qualification. So I got in touch because basically, I’d done all the units and my previous assessor didn’t register me for the unit I wanted.”
We wanted to delve a little deeper. After finding out that Sarah had come to us due to a mishap with another training provider, we sought to unravel any pre-enrolment concerns.
“No, I felt quite confident because of the experience I’ve had. I obviously was a bit nervous. I know it hadn’t been the intention, but someone else had made the mistake that led me to do it again. But from the start, I felt supported by yourself. “
Course Review
“I feel like I had a really brilliant experience with yourself. I’ve worked on member training projects over the years or for different courses, and have been on learning programmes with them. And I do have to say that you’re not comparable in a good way.
Everyone that I’ve spoken to… via email or call has been extremely professional. They’ve always been able to answer the question or come back with an answer. For me, there’s never been any delays. I’ve never had to chase anything or honestly, I think that you’re amazing”
Tips to Future Learners
“Okay. I would say that people should try their very best to engage with yourself because the support is there and it’s strong. Whether it’s actually seeking advice or just confirming that what you’re doing is what you should be doing clearly. Because yeah, the support is there if you need it. Just make sure that you plan what you want to do so that you don’t get lost. I know sometimes people might be on the deadline. I was, to be honest. But at the same time, if you try and rush something, you’re not going to get the most out of it.
Life after the Assessor Course
“We want to upskill my team to do Unit one of the CAVA. My boss has said that she’ll be happy for us to go through yourself for that, cause I recommended you as an organisation. So the team’s been upskilled. And maybe some of it might inspire them to go into assessment at some point and at least they’ve made a start.”
