Specialists in Assessor Training
At Brooks and Kirk, we have delivered Assessor Qualifications for over 25 years. We offer every assessor qualification there is to choose from within the TAQA suite.
One of the key advantages of our assessor qualifications is their non-industry-specific nature. Assessment skills are transferrable and can be applied across different sectors. Therefore, our courses focus on developing core assessment competencies that can be effectively utilised in your areas of occupational competence.
CAVA Assessor Course
Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement
Previously known as the A1 assessor award and the D32/D33 assessor course. CAVA is the most highly regarded of the assessor courses.
The Level 3 CAVA assessor qualification is the assessor training course you need to become a competent and proficient assessor. This course equips you with the necessary skills and knowledge to assess learners’ competence in their workplace and evaluate their vocational expertise in various learning environments.
This is the only qualification that will make you a fully qualified assessor in your area of expertise and is therefore the most popular of the assessor courses.
Level 3 Award in Vocationally Related Achievement
This assessor course is for anyone who needs to be qualified to assess learners in any of the following learning environments: classrooms, workshops and virtual learning environments.
On completion of this course, you would only be qualified to assess learners’ vocational knowledge, skills and understanding outside of the work environment.
If you wish to assess in both learning environments and work environments, you will need the CAVA assessor course.
Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in a Work Environment
This qualification is aimed at anyone who needs to be able to assess learners in the workplace.
On completion of this assessor course, you would only be qualified to assess learners’ occupational competence within a work environment, and not in any learning environments.
If you wish to assess in both work environments and learning environments, you will need the CAVA assessor course.
Level 3 Award in Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment
This assessor course is a ‘knowledge-only’ course, and does not qualify you to assess in the workplace or in any learning environment.
This course gives you the theory behind assessment but does not teach you the practical skills to assess learners. This course is ideal for those who are already qualified assessors, wanting to update their knowledge and skills.
