We have two Internal Quality Assurance courses for you to choose from. The first one is the Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice. This gives you the knowledge and skills needed to provide quality assurance of assessments and assessment decisions.

Then we have the Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice. This is the most highly regarded of all the IQA qualifications. You’ll be qualified to be the quality manager or centre lead at a training centre.

Level 4 Award in Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice

This IQA qualification allows you to contribute to the overall improvement and maintenance of assessment standards. You’ll gain a better understanding of assessment principles and techniques, enabling you to effectively evaluate and assure the quality of assessments within an organisation. This course is split up into two units.

  1. understanding the principles and practices of internally assuring the quality of assessment.
  2. internally assure the quality of assessment.

Unit 1 is all about theory. It takes you through internal quality assurance in the assessment process. Unit 2 is the practical unit. Where you’ll be required to monitor the work of two assessors, each overseeing 2 learners. This is where you’ll apply all the knowledge you’ve learnt in a real-world setting.

Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice

This qualification is a step up from the IQA Award, as it qualifies you to be a quality manager or centre lead for your organisation. This means you’ll be in charge of the whole assessment and internal quality assurance processes. The course is split up into three units.

  1. understanding the principles and practices of internally assuring the quality of assessment
  2. internally assure the quality of assessment
  3. plan, allocate and monitor work in your own area of responsibility.

The first two units are the same as the IQA award qualification. What’s different is the added third unit. This focuses on developing your skills to plan, allocate and monitor work in your area of responsibility. You’ll learn how to make work plans for your area, assign and agree on responsibilities with team members, and manage relevant information regarding the IQA process.
