How Further Education Can Positively Impact Your Life
We recently read an inspiring article on FENews by Paul McKean on how Further Education helped him get through a dark time in his life, and it got us all thinking. Whilst Paul’s story is unique to him, we think that the concept of Further Education changing lives for the better is a thing that a lot of our learners can relate to.
There are many different reasons why people come to us wanting to become Assessors, from wanting to expand their careers to wanting a complete change in lifestyle. Whatever the reason, they’re all grateful that Further Education has had an impact on their lives.
We took a handful of our learner reviews that we have received over the years that all have something in common – Further Education has made a positive impact on their lives, one way or another.

“Having studied education in the past, I had some idea of what I was getting myself into, so I didn’t need to rely as much on the tutors for support, but when I did they were there and extremely helpful; just don’t expect them to do the work for you, that part is up to you. The online system for downloading and submitting assessments is spot on, simple to use and fully supported by the team at Brooks and Kirk.
Feedback for the written assignments was timely and always useful, even assignments that were accepted first time had some constructive feedback to allow me to build on my knowledge or understanding further developing my professional practice as an assessor.
The practical elements of the course are the ones that seem to make most people nervous, with Brooks and Kirk there is no need to be. The way the assessment day is structured and delivered is fantastic. It also provides you with the skills and competencies you will need to complete the Assessing Vocational Skills, Knowledge, and Understanding unit documentation for the full CAVA qualification.
Overall I can’t recommend Brooks and Kirk highly enough: the course materials are first class; the assessors are helpful, knowledgeable, and professional; you have a choice of awarding bodies; the price is very reasonable with flexible payment options that make self-funding attainable. What more could you want?
My intention now is to complete an IQA course with Brooks and Kirk as soon as they allow me to, and if they start to offer one, I will be completing an End Point Assessors course with them as well.”

“I was very impressed with Brooks and Kirk. I hadn’t done any studying since leaving university 17 years previously so was understandably anxious. Brooks and Kirk were very approachable and friendly when I rung to ask, what I considered to be, stupid questions.
I really enjoyed my days in London both for my CAVA and my EAT as both Laura and Dan made the sessions informal and enjoyable and managed to create an environment where you feel at ease and comfortable enough to ask questions, I learnt lots.
Your moodle e-learning site was easy to use and turnaround for marking my assignments was much less than your advertised two weeks. I was also able to ask your staff to help with job interview questions, which Laura did with no hesitation and I’m pleased to say I got the job!
