Every Learner is Different | Richard’s Story
About Richard
Richard’s hobbies include cycling and electric gravel biking.
Life before Brooks and Kirk
Richard had worked for 25 years in the Emergency Services. He was originally a paramedic for 6 years, and then moved into the police force for 19. Unfortunately, Richard had a serious collision whilst at work which ended his operational career and forced him to medically retire.
Finding Brooks and Kirk
After carrying out some research on Brooks and Kirk by looking at our website, reviews, and Ofsted report, Richard phoned us up. Following a chat with Dan, Richard decided to enrol on the Level 3 CAVA course.
Course Review
“For someone who has never done online learning before, I really quite enjoyed it, way more than I ever though I would. I was very happy with my training. Bearing it mind I had no experience of this, I found it very user friendly, which was important to me. I knew what was expected of me. I needed the assessor qualification to assess at a higher level, doing what I’m doing now, because some of the courses I now teach are regulated by Awarding Bodies who required the assessor qualification. It’s given me credibility and it’s given me work far quicker than I thought it would.”
Life after the Assessor Course
Richard has found employment with two different companies since qualifying as an Assessor, both of which he is really happy with. He intends on furthering his knowledge by undertaking more first aid training and other qualifications in the future.
Richard’s Advice
“If I was to do further qualifications, I would contact Brooks and Kirk first and foremost. I paid £700 out of my retirement fund and invested that money in qualifications, and it’s already paid me back within a few weeks due to employment.”
