Detailed Breakdown of the IQA Course
The entire IQA training course typically takes around 5-6 months to complete, assuming a study commitment of a few hours per week. Throughout this duration, learners engage with the VLE, attend a study day, collaborate with fellow trainees, and receive ongoing support from tutors.
The course structure aims to provide a well-rounded learning experience that balances theoretical knowledge with practical application, preparing individuals to become competent and confident internal quality assurers.
Unit 1 – Understanding the Principles and Practices of Internally Assuring the Quality of Assessment
Unit 1 of our IQA course is designed to provide you with in-depth knowledge of internal quality assurance in the assessment process. This unit is delivered entirely online through our user-friendly Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). By accessing our VLE, you will have access to a wide range of learning resources tailored to this unit. Additionally, you will receive unlimited tutor support to ensure a seamless learning experience.
Unit 2- Internally Assure the Quality of Assessment
Moving on to Unit 2, trainee IQAs will have the opportunity to apply their knowledge in a practical setting. In this unit, you will be required to monitor the work of two assessors, each overseeing a minimum of two learners. To provide you with real-world experience, we will integrate you into our existing IQA systems, allowing you to assess our Assessor qualifications. This unit is primarily delivered in a face-to-face format, offering you the chance to interact with trainers and fellow participants. You can choose to attend the sessions at one of our conveniently located offices in London (Fulham), Manchester, Coventry, or Boston (Lincolnshire).
