It’s a lovely sunny Tuesday, we are back with our fifth Every Learner is Different – We hope it’s as sunny where you are as it is here at our head office, Boston Lincolnshire. Once again we are back with another learner, Sobia the teaching assistant.
Every Learner is Different (ELD) is all about showing anyone that is considering becoming an assessor, that there are no barriers with Brooks and Kirk. Whatever your area of expertise, age, location, employment status etc, we will have helped people similar to you before. ‘Similar’, but not the same, because every learner is different!
If you would like to be a part of our ELD campaign and share your story, then I’m only a phone call or email away 🙂
This week’s ELD featured learner… Meet Sobia.
Sobia's Story Every Learner is Different
Tell us a bit about you
I like watching soaps, socialising with friends and spending time with my family.
I like a mixture of music genres but I mostly listen to general pop and R&B.
Life before Brooks and Kirk
I am a senior Level 3 teaching assistant, working in a primary school. At the time of enrolling onto the course I was on maternity leave.
How did you find us?
It’s something I wanted to do, so I decided to go for it. I started looking at jobs and found that I would need an assessor qualification.
I was searching online for courses and Brooks & Kirk came up. So I looked at reviews, phoined up and went for it.
What did you think of the course?
It was helpful. Especially having the assessors support, I could ring them anytime or email them which was quite helpful especially if you’re working. I’ve never used that online learning system before but it was easy to pick up. Completing the tasks; you aren’t under pressure to complete as there are no deadlines. So I could complete them in whatever order I wanted. If I felt comfortable with one task over another then I would do that one first. Also it was nice that some tasks have the little videos.
Life after the Assessor Course
At the minute I’m back in my job, as a teaching assistant but I am still actively looking for an assessor job.
