Level 3 Award in Understand the Principles and Practices of Assessment UPPA
The Level 3 Award in Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment includes 1 out of 3 units of the entire Assessor Qualification.
It provides you with the knowledge behind Assessment, however does not qualify you to assess in any way. It is a great course for those who are already qualified Assessors, and want to get some CPD under their belt.
However, we would highly recommend another alternative, the CAVA (Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement). It is the CAVA that will make you a fully qualified Assessor, able to assess in work AND learning environment.
Now, let’s get down to business on UPPA.
The Essential Course Details
We like to keep it as simple and straightforward as possible for prospective learners to find the course information they need. So below, we have outlined the essential course details that everyone will need to know before starting their UPPA.
The UPPA Broken Down
The UPPA is one of the many qualifications within the ‘TAQA’ (Training, Assessment and Quality Assurance) suite.
This Level 3 NVQ probably isn’t as big as you might expect it to be either. If you have previously completed a Level 3 NVQ, you will know that these typically consist of anywhere between 7 to 13 units… The UPPA on the other hand, comprises of just 1 unit; and here’s what it involves:
Any Sector. Anywhere.
You could be looking to work as an: Electrical Engineering Assessor, Early Years Assessor, Business Admin Assessor, an Equine Assessor or any other vocational assessor… the Assessor qualifications work for any industry.
So just like you get a Level 3 NVQ in Customer Service, this is a Level 3 NVQ in Assessing. However, if you’re looking to become a fully-qualified assessor, it’s the CAVA you need.
